About our Combat Sport First aid / Trauma Course

Toro Fight Care delivers a combat sport based first aid / trauma education course for pre hospital care and treatment of sparring and competition injuries.

If you coach, officiate, involved with training of combat sports in any capacity or  simply wanting to update or learn new skills.  This course applies to all disciplines and will teach you Primary, Secondary First Aid along with CPR / Defib training. With the emphasis based upon common combat sports injuries. 

This 6 hour course (approximately) starts from £55pp and covers

• Head injuries
• Concussion
• Scene and Safety assessment 
• Cardiac Arrest 
• AED (Defib) Use 
• Facial Injuries & Airway Management 
• Bleeds (Haemorrhage), Cuts and Infections
• Dislocations, Sprains  and Fractures
• Neck and Spinal Injuries
• Various treatment applications
• Plus other subjects

HSE stipulates First Aid must be relevant to the environment its being practised. 

However we will teach you skills that are relevant to  not just in the gym but everyday life. During the course you will not only learn basic emergency first aid, but also first aid specific to exercise and sports with a trauma influenced input to underpin your first aid experience and knowledge. Thus promoting the ethos of fighter safety. 

Our Courses are  aligned with the ProTrainings platform, TQUK endorsed and regulated by Qaulsafe. They are also Skills For Life and CPD accredited.  Giving you the confidence of knowing your getting a fully accredited course delivered by experienced tutors.

We regularly update our course information to ensure its in line with current advice guidance. 

Our approach to course delivery is relaxed, friendly and very much informal. However, we do ask participant's to demonstrate their understanding via practical and theoretical assessment's. This is so we can ensure that what we teach, and how we teach, is being understood and that we as course providers ensure a smooth learning pathway. This also allows us to address any shortfalls in understanding so participants can gain a full understanding of the subjects. 

We believe that fighter safety is paramount and that first aid knowledge should be fairly priced and accessible to all. We believe that first aid / trauma knowledge can be applied in not just the gym but in all areas of every day life, giving you the confidence you need should the worst happen. 

Upon successful completion, participants will achieve a certificate which will be valid for three years. We do recommend a yearly refresher. 

We also offer a large variety of First Aid training courses that are specific to your working environment. 

• Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
• CPR/BLS courses
• Industry specific first aid i.e. Forestry, mechanics, office environment.
• Bespoke course tailored to various activities i.e. horse riding, cycling, outdoor pursuits
• First Aid for everyday life (Applicable for everyone)

Because each client is different and their nature of work is different. We recommend that you tell us your nature of work and we will do the rest. That way you are getting industry specific training instead of run of the mill, follow a script training course.

 Upon successful completion, participants will achieve a TQUK endorsed,  Skills For Life and CPD accredited certificate which will be valid for three years. We do recommend a yearly refresher.
