About our Combat Sport Injury Course

Toro Fight Care delivers a combat sport based first aid / trauma education course for pre hospital care and treatment of sparring and competition injuries.

By encouraging those involved to understand how and why injuries happen and more importantly, how to react should someone become injured or worse.

The course delivers Primary, Secondary First Aid along with CPR / Defib training. With emphasis based upon common Combat Sports injuries. This 4 hour course covers the care of the unconscious casualty as well as Breaks, Dislocations, Scene and Safety assessment, Cardiac Arrest, amongst lots of other subjects. During the course you will not only learn basic emergency first aid, but also first aid specific to exercise and sports and is designed to give continuous professional development to coaches, combat sport gym owners and participants. Providing trauma influenced input to underpin your first aid experience and knowledge.

In training and in competition the dynamics of cage/ring side can be very fast. By learning how to spot injuries that could be detrimental to the fighters health this will help coaches and sparring partners alike to act swiftly and with confidence. However, more importantly, work together alongside the medical staff with a greater degree of understanding. Thus promoting the ethos of fighter safety first.

If you run or own a gym, fitness group or are a Personal Trainer, you can appreciate you have a duty of care for your clients, this shouldn't be left to chance should the worst happen. 

Our courses are operated under the Emergency First response clinical governance, giving you the confidence you need to be there for clients should the worst happen.

The course will cover the core subjects of:

• Decision making
• Bleeds, cuts and infections
• Dislocations, sprains, breaks and fractures
• Concussion
• Neck and spinal injuries
• Cardiac arrest
• and other subjects

Upon successful completion, participants will achieve a certificate which will be valid for three years. 

We also offer a Emergency First Aid at Work Refresher Course . This course is perfect for those who work in other aspects of gym / training industry. To help upskill their knowledge or merely refresh their learning with all things First Aid , Casualty Care and pre hospital assistance. With up to date workplace relevant information and guidance you can be assured that you and your staff are confident to deal with any first aid issues that may arise.

This course will cover the core subjects of:

• HSE Legislation
• Scene Assessment
• Bleeds ( Minor & Major)
• Breathing
• Unconsciousness
•  Signs & Symptoms of Time Critical Illness
• Cardiac Arrest & Defib
• Plus other subjects 

Upon successful completion, participants will achieve a certificate which will be valid for three years.
